The Suprasorb-sheet protects your new tattoo and increases the healing process. It works like a second skin, is breathable and keeps the dirt away from your wound. Your tattoo could look a little bit blurry under the plastic, but that’s normal, so please leave the film on the skin.
Remove it carefully after 2-4 days, using clear and warm water and possibly some ph-neutral mild soap. Once removed, wash your tattoo thoroughly ONLY with clear and warm water and clean hands. Never use a bathroom towel- you could hurt your tattoo. Let it air dry or gently tap it dry with a clean paper towel.
Use tattoo ointment after you have cleaned your tattoo and the skin is dry. Again wash your hands properly before you use the ointment, otherwise you could rub dirt or bacteria into your fresh tattoo AND the ointment.
Apply a THIN layer of your tattoo ointment and massage it into the skin to the point where it just barely looks moist, 2-3 times a day for about 2 weeks, always washing off the old cream, wound water and bacteria before applying new cream. This is a vital step to avoid scabbing!
Your skin might be dry and itchy. Never scratch it! You could cause infections, lose color or leave scars. If you can‘t resist, slap it – it helps! You should avoid soaking in a bath, going to saunas, swimming pools and tanning beds as well as avoiding direct sunlight, since this could prevent the healing. We recommend to avoid any sport activities for the first 10-14 days, so your tattoo can heal in the best possible way.
Once your tattoo is completely healed (usually takes around 4-6 weeks, NEVER before that), you can keep your tattoo from fading by applying sunscreen with a high protection factor when you stay in the sun.
You need to treat your fresh tattoo like an open wound, so be very aware of this for the first few days. The outcome also depends on your special care.
